About This Episode

Special guest Brandon Carson, a retired law-enforcement and federal-government employee, joins the guys for a conspiracy-heavy episode exploring some of the biggest mysteries surrounding Ancient Egypt, the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, the Grand Canyon, lost civilizations, hidden history, Flat Earth, Antarctica, simulation theory, Bible codes and more.

And Brandon brings something different to the conversation:

He's actually been inside the Great Pyramid.

The guys compare what we're taught about ancient history with the questions that still remain. Were the pyramids really tombs? Who actually built them? Could they be much older than conventional timelines suggest? What's underneath them? Why are similar structures, legends and symbols found in civilizations separated by thousands of miles?

Then the conversation comes back to America.

The guys dive into the legendary 1909 Grand Canyon story involving G.E. Kincaid, alleged Egyptian-style artifacts, caves, the Smithsonian and restricted areas of the canyon.

From there?

All bets are off.

Flat Earth.

The firmament.

Antarctica.

The moon.

Simulation theory.

DMT.

Bible codes.

Hidden civilizations.

And whether everything we've been taught about human history is actually the whole story.

Episode 38 is basically one giant Fringe Files.

And that's exactly what makes this one fun.

SPECIAL GUEST: BRANDON CARSON

Episode 38 welcomes Brandon Carson to the studio.

Brandon describes himself as retired from law enforcement and the federal government, a world traveler and somebody who enjoys questioning the official explanation when things don't add up.

That makes him a pretty natural fit for Wolves & Wisemen.

Especially when the topic is conspiracy theories.

And because Brandon has personally traveled to Egypt, he brings firsthand observations from the pyramids, Sphinx, Valley of the Kings and other ancient sites into the conversation.

COWBOY SHIT: STEER DRESSING

Before disappearing completely into Fringe Files, there's some unfinished cowboy business.

Pioneer Day.

Small-town Utah.

A rodeo.

A steer.

And pajama pants.

The challenge is called steer dressing, and it's exactly as ridiculous as it sounds:

Catch a steer...

Control it...

And somehow put pants on it.

Rob and Brandon break down their attempt, including getting dragged around the arena, wrestling the steer and Brandon's son Espen refusing to quit after things went sideways.

Sometimes brotherhood means helping your friend through hard times.

Sometimes it means agreeing to put Christmas pants on livestock.

FRINGE FILES: WHO REALLY BUILT THE PYRAMIDS?

Then the rabbit hole officially opens.

The guys start with one of the greatest mysteries in human history:

The Great Pyramids of Egypt.

We're told enormous stones were transported, lifted and positioned using ancient technology and manpower.

But the guys ask the obvious question:

How?

Some of the stones involved are massive.

Materials came from considerable distances.

The construction is incredibly precise.

And thousands of years later, we're still debating exactly how ancient builders accomplished it.

So were the pyramids built by the civilization traditionally credited with them?

Or did later Egyptians inherit something that was already there?

BRANDON WENT INSIDE THE GREAT PYRAMID

This is where Episode 38 gets especially interesting.

Brandon has actually been there.

He describes entering the Pyramid of Khufu and traveling through its narrow passageways into the larger interior spaces and King's Chamber.

One thing immediately stood out:

The inside wasn't what he expected.

Compared with the elaborately decorated tombs he visited in the Valley of the Kings, the pyramid's interior appeared remarkably plain.

No elaborate artwork covering the walls.

No grand tribute to a pharaoh.

Just enormous stone construction and chambers.

That raises the question the guys keep coming back to:

What if the pyramids weren't originally built as tombs at all?

WHAT'S UNDER THE PYRAMIDS?

The conversation then moves underground.

The guys discuss controversial claims surrounding remote-sensing research that has been interpreted by some researchers as suggesting large structures or shafts beneath the Giza complex.

They explore the possibility of deeper chambers, columns, water systems and underground structures beneath the pyramids and Sphinx.

The episode doesn't establish those interpretations as proven archaeological discoveries.

Instead, the question becomes:

If something really is underneath Giza, what is it?

And why would it be there?

WERE THE PYRAMIDS POWER PLANTS?

One theory takes the conversation in a completely different direction.

What if the pyramids weren't tombs?

What if they were machines?

The guys discuss theories involving underground water, chambers, conductive materials, copper and the possibility that the pyramid complex could have been connected to some form of ancient energy generation.

That naturally leads to Nikola Tesla and wireless energy.

If ancient civilizations understood energy differently than we do today...

How much knowledge might have been lost?

THE SPHINX DOESN'T LOOK RIGHT

Then there's the Sphinx.

Look at the body.

Then look at the head.

Something seems off.

The guys discuss theories that the Sphinx may once have had a different head and that the existing human head could have been carved later.

They also discuss the controversial water-erosion hypothesis surrounding the Sphinx enclosure.

If substantial water erosion occurred there...

Could parts of the complex be considerably older than the conventional timeline?

Brandon's firsthand impression is that the erosion doesn't simply look like ordinary exposure to desert sand and wind.

EGYPT IN THE GRAND CANYON?

Then Episode 38 crosses the Atlantic.

1909.

The Grand Canyon.

A man named G.E. Kincaid.

A story published about a supposed discovery involving caves and artifacts that appeared to have connections to ancient cultures.

According to the story discussed on the show, Kincaid discovered an entrance high above the Colorado River containing chambers, artifacts and unusual symbols.

The Smithsonian was supposedly brought into the story afterward.

And then?

The trail essentially disappears.

The guys explore the legend and ask whether there's anything behind one of America's strangest archaeological conspiracy stories.

WHY ARE THERE EGYPTIAN NAMES IN THE GRAND CANYON?

Things get even stranger when you look at the names on the map.

Isis Temple.

Horus Temple.

Tower of Ra.

Names connected directly to Egyptian mythology exist throughout the Grand Canyon region.

That doesn't prove ancient Egyptians were living in Arizona—the names were assigned much later—but combined with the Kincaid legend, it's easy to understand why the area became conspiracy fuel.

So the guys ask:

Could there be something hidden inside the Grand Canyon?

RESTRICTED AREAS & HIDDEN CAVES

The conversation dives deeper into stories involving restricted areas, inaccessible caves, unusual structures and alleged government activity within parts of the canyon.

Some claims are documented legends.

Others are internet stories.

Others are pure speculation.

And that's exactly why they're in Fringe Files.

Because the fun isn't pretending we know the answer.

It's asking:

Why does this story refuse to die?

DID ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS KNOW EACH OTHER?

One of the biggest themes running through Episode 38 is the similarity between ancient cultures.

Pyramids appear around the world.

Flood stories appear across different civilizations.

Stories of giants appear repeatedly.

Symbols sometimes appear remarkably similar.

Creation stories can share common themes.

And cultures traditionally believed to have had little or no contact sometimes developed ideas that seem strangely familiar.

Coincidence?

Common human experience?

Ancient contact?

A civilization that existed before the ones recorded in our history books?

The guys don't settle the question.

They just keep pulling the thread.

LOST CIVILIZATIONS & THE FLOOD

That leads into another major possibility:

What if advanced civilizations existed before a massive global catastrophe?

The guys discuss ancient flood traditions, underground civilizations, lost continents and stories of survivors emerging after catastrophic events.

The biblical flood also becomes part of the conversation.

Could some of the ancient stories told across completely different cultures be memories of the same catastrophic event?

And could survivors have carried pieces of an older civilization's knowledge into the world that came afterward?

HOW MUCH HISTORY HAVE WE LOST?

Eventually, the discussion becomes bigger than pyramids.

It's about history itself.

What survives?

Who records it?

Who decides what gets taught?

And what happens when new discoveries challenge something people have believed for generations?

The guys question how historical narratives change over time and whether important discoveries could have been ignored, lost or deliberately hidden.

Episode 38 doesn't prove a grand hidden-history theory.

But it raises a worthwhile question:

How much about humanity's distant past do we actually know with certainty?

FLAT EARTH

Then Brandon drops the grenade.

Flat Earth.

He doesn't claim to know definitively that Earth is flat.

Instead, he explains why it's one of the theories he doesn't completely dismiss.

And suddenly the studio divides.

The conversation hits:

Earth's curvature

Gravity

Water finding level

Long-distance shooting

Satellites

Airplanes

The moon

NASA

The biblical firmament

Antarctica

Admiral Byrd

The Antarctic Treaty

The possibility that Earth is simply much larger than we're told

Nobody solves the shape of the planet.

But everybody gets considerably louder.

THE FIRMAMENT

The Flat Earth discussion eventually connects back to Scripture.

What exactly does the Bible mean when it describes the firmament?

Is it literal?

Symbolic?

A translation issue?

Does it describe something physical separating Earth from what's above?

And if so...

What?

The guys don't pretend to have the theological answer.

But it's one of the more interesting places where Fringe Files and biblical discussion collide.

WHY ANTARCTICA?

Regardless of the shape of Earth, Antarctica creates another question.

Why have nations that disagree on practically everything historically cooperated around Antarctica?

Why are there restrictions on what ordinary people can do there?

What's actually underneath miles of ice?

And why does Antarctica appear in so many conspiracy theories involving ancient civilizations, pyramids, hidden land and Admiral Byrd?

Flat Earth or globe...

Antarctica deserves its own rabbit hole.

DO WE LIVE IN A SIMULATION?

Just when it seems like there's nowhere else to go...

Simulation theory enters the room.

The guys discuss experiments and internet claims involving observation, lasers, quantum behavior and the idea that reality may behave differently when it's being observed.

That leads to a video-game comparison:

In a video game, the entire world doesn't necessarily need to be rendered at maximum detail simultaneously.

Only the area being observed by the player does.

So...

Could reality work anything like that?

Probably the exact question you want to be asking two hours into a conspiracy podcast.

DMT & SEEING THE CODE

Then things get even stranger.

The guys discuss reports involving people using DMT while looking at projected laser patterns and claiming to see code-like structures.

Are they actually perceiving something?

Are altered states simply causing similar visual hallucinations?

Nobody on the show establishes an answer.

But when you're already discussing simulation theory...

It's one hell of a rabbit hole.

BIBLE CODES

The conversation then comes full circle back to Scripture.

The guys discuss claims surrounding so-called Bible codes—patterns supposedly discovered by selecting letters or words at particular intervals in biblical texts.

Some researchers and enthusiasts have claimed these patterns reveal names, events and dates.

Critics argue similar patterns can emerge from large texts through statistical coincidence and flexible search methods.

Episode 38 doesn't resolve that debate.

It simply adds another question:

What if there's more encoded in ancient texts than we realize?

SACKED

After nearly melting everyone's brain...

It's time for something considerably easier to understand.

People getting hit in the nuts.

Sacked returns with:

Dogs.

Poles.

Canine training.

Soccer.

And several extremely unfortunate men reconsidering every decision that brought them to that exact moment.

No ancient technology required.

REBEL REPORT

The episode closes out with Rebel Report and a rapid-fire discussion of current events.

The guys discuss U.S. foreign policy and proposed congressional spending, America's relationship with Israel, European reactions to the Israel-Iran conflict, concerns about government and military authority, street-takeover stupidity, a reported foodborne-illness outbreak connected in the discussion to Taco Bell, and even a serial park pooper reportedly caught with the help of a drone.

Serious topics.

Ridiculous topics.

Sometimes within approximately thirty seconds of each other.

Pretty standard Rebel Report.

THIS DAY IN HISTORY

There's technically not supposed to be a full Today in History.

But conspiracy night can't end without one more rabbit hole.

The guys discuss the 1945 B-25 bomber crash into the Empire State Building, comparing the building's survival with questions surrounding later aviation disasters and structural failures.

They also mention the massive 1976 Tangshan earthquake in China.

Because apparently two hours of conspiracies wasn't enough.

Episode 38 asks one question over and over:

What if the story we've been given isn't the entire story?

We don't claim to have all the answers.

Half the time we're not even sure we have the right questions.

But that's what Fringe Files is about.

Pull the thread.

Ask the uncomfortable question.

Go down the rabbit hole.

And decide for yourself what you believe.
